Vital Software is a leading IT software company in the automotive industry that supplies innovative CRM, Data and Analytics solutions to major OEM brands and dealer groups across Australia and NZ.

We are seeking a Software Developer – QA and DevOps to lead our quality improvement at Vital Software, based in our recently refurbished offices in South Melbourne. Ideally, you are a technical individual with a passion for delivering high quality software with an emphasis on Quality Assurance, experience with MS SQL databases, prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred but not required.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will assist in advancing the quality of software deployments across the organisation and will also play a key role in improving quality, stability and reducing the number of production incidents. You will be charged with creating an environment of continual improvement.

The developer will be part of a supportive team, follow programming best practices, prioritise work effectively, address production issues in a timely manner, help bridge the gap between application and data teams plus write system documentation when required.

The successful candidate should have strong communication skills to be effective in both technical and business requirement discussions and have a good track record of testing and providing Quality Assurance and analysing software before launch.

Additionally, the successful candidate will also possess the following skills and experience.

Essential skills and experience:

• Excellent communication skills as you will need to communicate with 3^rdparty suppliers and customers
• Experienced in .NET 4.0+
• Experience in both front (ASP.NET, JavaScript, Angular) and back end technologies (C#, TSQL)
• Experience working with web services (preferably WCF and REST)
• Experience with source control (preferably Git)
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment

Preferred skills and experience:

• Data analysis experience
• Working with 3^rdparty data suppliers
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar
• Experience in designing build pipelines and automated deployments
• Experience in automated UI testing
